We were called out to diagnose a skid steer that would not start.

Many no-start issues are misdiagnosed, leading to unnecessary parts replacement and additional downtime.
A thorough diagnosis can save equipment owners both time and money by identifying the actual cause of the problem before replacing expensive components.
So instead of replacing another battery, we began a complete charging system diagnosis.

A properly functioning alternator should typically produce between 13.8 and 14.5 volts while the engine is running.
Replacing the battery alone would have only provided a temporary solution because the new battery would eventually drain as well.
The Repair

We replaced the faulty alternator and performed a complete charging system verification.
After installation:
-Battery voltage returned to normal.
